Pricing FAQ

When am I charged as a guest?

You are charged at the time of booking. The full amount, including the space rental, applicable taxes, and any service fee, is processed through our secure Stripe payment system.

When do hosts get paid?

Hosts receive their payout 3-5 business days after the event takes place. Payouts are sent via direct deposit to the bank account on file in your Host Dashboard.

What does the platform commission cover?

Secure payment processing, 24/7 customer support, marketing to bring guests to your listing, and ongoing platform development. EventSpace does NOT provide property insurance — hosts should maintain their own homeowner's, renter's, or commercial-event policy. We mediate disputes and provide a secure damage-claim channel, but coverage is the host's responsibility.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We believe in full transparency. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Hosts see their exact earnings before accepting any booking.

How does the security deposit work?

The security deposit is optional — each host sets it based on their space, the event size, and what they're offering (similar to Airbnb's approach). When set, it's authorized on the guest's card at checkout, held without being charged, and only captured if the host files a documented damage claim within 48 hours of the event. If no claim is filed, the authorization releases automatically.

Can hosts set their own prices?

Absolutely. Hosts have full control over their hourly rate or flat rate, service fee (0-15%), and security deposit amount. We provide pricing recommendations based on comparable listings in your area.
